Pursuant to Rhode Island Acess to Public Records Act (R.I.G.L. §
38-2 et seq.), users of the Internet Map Server hereby agree to access the
following public records in accordance with all applicable State laws
concerning public records.
Specifically, the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) holds
that the public's right of access to public records and the individual's
right to dignity and privacy are both recognized as principles of the utmost
importance in a free society. It is the intent of the RIEDC to protect
from disclosure any information about particular individuals maintained in the
files of public bodies when disclosure would constitute unwarranted invasion of
personal privacy.
No person or business entity shall use information obtained from public records
pursuant to solicit for commercial purposes or to obtain a commercial advantage
over the party furnishing that information to the public body. Anyone who
knowingly and willfully violates the provisions of the Public Records Act may,
in addition to any civil liability, be punished by a fine of not more than $500
and/or imprisonment for no longer than one year.
